New forum promotes knowledge-sharing by hospice sector leaders

21 January 2014

Graduates of the MA in Hospice Leadership explored their ground-breaking leadership research at a new Hospice Learning Forum held in December 2013 at Lancaster University.

This collaborative space was the catalyst for sharing learning on the big issues for the hospice, end of life and palliative care sector.

The forum brought together influential members of the hospice sector to explore research findings, to discuss ideas developed by hospice leaders for hospice leaders and to translate their ideas into practical action through conversations that matter to managers, clinicians, patients and the wider sector.

These conversations were facilitated by Dr Sally Watson and of Lancaster University Management School to share learning from the MA in Hospice Leadership: the leadership development programme for the hospice, end of life and palliative care sector. In partnership with Help the Hospices, this programme provides the essential elements to grow the confidence and resilience of hospice leaders to face the challenges of a complex and changing environment. By delivering the knowledge, skills and real-life experience it enables leaders, from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, to deliver cutting-edge leadership that can be applied across a multitude of disciplines.
